How do you let birds know when you’ve refilled the bird feeder?

    Send a tweet.

Sitting around watching the birds crowd around the bird feeder,

My brother says, “Someone must have left a good Yelp review.” I said, “Yeah, somebody tweeted about it.”

Two of my bird feeders have been mangled this summer. Maybe I’ll check the neighborhood for pterodactyls.

    No, I won’t, I don’t want to find any.

Squirrels can be persistent. We use feeders that birds enjoy but which drive squirrels ‘up a tree?’. Each has a cage that slides down over the opening at the weight of anything heavier than a woodpecker.

They never get a seed but they keep trying. So far their feeder diet consists mostly of the green paint/vinyl that covers the cage. You’d think they’d learn but no, they just keep coming back. Was interesting in the early years but just boring now. Their IQ’s in this at least is lower than for some pols.

Last time I put up a bird feeder, the entire feeder was eaten? I never put up another one. Whatever ate it, I don’t want in my back yard!

When we bought our house last year the previous owner apologized because one of the bird feeders had just been destroyed by a bear. We moved the other one further out into the yard.

The feeder is the appetizer. BC and Peter may be the main course.

This would be the ancient ancestor of our current lot of Canada Geese.

Actually, in retrospect, this creature evolved into the gulls at the Canada Place Cruise Port; the freakin’ geese came from the Jurassic Park raptors…
