Well, if you were indeed trying for enthusiastic, you nailed it!

Thimblefist with the speak softly and carry a mighty thimblefist… O.K. softly isn’t the word and enthusiastic is a huge understatement. Mona looks a bit leary of him? Luckily, Queen Mag is on the case.

I don’t blame Mona for being startled. Those thimble-fists — and the ear-splitting shouts — are pretty intimidating up close, and at chipmunk eye-level.

Ah, Thimblefist. “I prefer shouting. You see, I don’t really enjoy violence . . . but, I do know how!”

I still don’t trust Mona. Too convenient. I suspect she’s a double agent.

You have to look closely to see Thimblefist’s pink paw pads and toebeans in panel 2. I love Georgia’s attention to detail. Swoon

Lil’ baby Frodo gets his cast off today. Depending on his mobility, he may not need a second cast. Here’s hoping. Oh, and putting a body cast on a cat…was miserable for him, and for us.

Frodo needed round the clock support since he couldn’t really move well, and no matter how well I explained what was going on, he wasn’t buying it.

Thankfully he is a small cat (only 4-1/2 lbs. at 14 months) and everybody wanted to carry him around.

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

    At the Nile Harbor

Fresh Water Cat: Ready for another fishing run, Salty?

Twin Brother Salt Water Cat: As always. Do you think the Diem Carp are running today?

Fresh: Not sure, but if they’re there we’ll catch them. Oh, there’s our friend Iggy. Iggy, want to join us on a fishing run?

Iggy: Sure. I’ve completed my latest project. A bit of fishing would be great!

    Aboard the Water Cat Boat

Fresh: See any Diem Carp out there?

Salty: No, but there is a school of Perfect Perch. Just the thing for tonight’s dinner.

Iggy: Looks like Thomios is going to be busy tonight.

    Back at the Harbor

Iggy: Hey there! Ahoy Iron Glove!

Iron Glove: How was the fishing?

Iggy: Great! We’re gonna have a feast tonight!

Iron Glove: I’d love to go along, but I hear you have to be quiet.

Salty: That’s right. We don’t want to scare the fish.

Iron Glove: I’m going to the Cosmo Nursery with Bea to get round lawn potatoes. They don’t get scared.

    At the Cosmo Nursery

Trevor-Hotep: Hello guys, what can I do you for?

Bea: We’re here for lawn potatoes for this week’s match.

    Trev: Right here.

Iron Glove: Will you be coming to the match?

Trev: I think so. I always have time for my friends.

Bea: And we’ll always have tie for you!

To Real-Life Trevor: Safe travels across the Rainbow Bridge. We love you always

I am Thimble, hear me roar

In a voice too big to ignore

And I shout so much I’ve deafened all my friends

‘Cause I’ve scared them all before

When I thunder just like Thor

And no one’s ever gonna get through my defense

    Yes, I am loud

    And it’s clamor causing pain

Yes, ears have paid the price

    But I’m embulliently unashamed

If I have to, I can yell anything

    I resound (resound)

    I am invincible (invincible)

    I AM THIMBLE!

One of our yard cats has been missing since this weekend. I’ve wandered the yard calling his name to no avail, but today while I was out hanging up my laundry, he hollered for me!

The lil gray guy had crawled into a hole under the shed – no idea why – and one of my kids was able to help the cat squirm back out. After so much time without food and water, he’s pretty unsteady on his feet. My kid took the cat into his room and offered food and water. Kitty started drinking and drinking – food could wait; he was thirsty!

We’re hoping he feels lots better tomorrow. If he’s still wobbly, we’ll need to get him to the vet.
