Republicans would still execute Continuous Campaigning, as would Fox and the entire right wing media structure.

Well, that confirms it. Todays GOP is so conservative, they are trying to take us back to pre-1776.

I’d go for their “you have to actually belong to a party to select its candidate” bit. That would have saved us a lot of heartburn over the last decade+

Stanti and Tedd Rall were late with their release of the DMZ podcast. I’m assuming it was because they had no material, as we had to listen to them go on for about the 8th time about Biden being too old (He is.). Ted says there’s a 40% chance the DNC will overthrow Biden before the election. Ted also asserted that the Russians were winning the war. Obviously, Ted, a russophile, is limited to making his case on a tactical level, i.e. Russia is generally thwarting Ukraine’s offensive efforts. On the big-boy, strategic level, Russia is gitting its a$$ handed back to itself in more ways than we can count. As per normal, Stanti had little to say of note.

Yes, the real Head of State is the Prime Minister. But for some reason, they still feel the need to give some guy (who doesn’t even have a job) his own castle, servants, and guards at public expense, for absolutely no reason except that his ancestors were truly awful people.

And no primaries and the party with the most seats gets to appoint country’s leader and they can just as easily get rid of them with a vote of confidence and there is no electoral college and elections are federally controlled and there is no gerrymandering and judges and law enforcement is not an elected position and the senate doesn’t control military promotions

Otherwise the US system is not that bad

If we did it that way, we would never have a government, The elections would always be going on.

Iowa and New Hampshire should NOT always get first pick in the primaries.

America spends more time and money on elections than possibly the rest of the world. And what did they get for all this time and effort in 2016, an orange wannabe autocrat with questionable morals and intelligence.
