Just like the grandkids used to do in the car on the way back from an adventure.

My daughter sleeps like that.

After surgery, they always say the patient is “resting comfortably”. More like zonked out on the drugs. And when those wear off, whoo boy!

My dog sleeps like that. Farting and snoring while doing so are an added “bonus”.

Does he have restless leg syndrome ? Woof

When my spouse went to hospital… they told me that line of “he is resting comfortably”. They then would blush. I’m not talking just a hint of color to the cheeks. I’m talking bright red and a sheepish shuffle! They then would whisper to me, “Could you do something about it?” Went in to visit spouse. He was refusing to have anything covering below chest-height. I blushed for the staff’s sake. But he even refused my request of Cover Up!

Pain ques up in a buffer until the receptors turn back on again.

My cat can be perfectly comfortable in a horrible position I can only describe as “fallen from a great height”. Cats have more vertebrae than humans. I don’t know what is the excuse for dogs.

I have a small collection of pictures of dogs in positions like that. A couple of the most extreme ones have captions like “They didn’t know how to assemble this dog properly.”.
