The Crankshaft dual-purpose trebuchet.

Clears leaves from the gutter, catapult a squirel two blocks down the street.

Because leaves never stick or get wedged in anything.

No fire? No injuries??? Something is amiss here.

Well, it’s no Rube Goldberg, but I gotta admit I kinda like it.

Impressive! One thought, if the downspout is clogged you get a quick shower, too.

Not so fast. Something has to go wrong. It always does. It will backfire. And speaking of fire… without fire Crankshaft won’t be happy!

Next year he’ll be lowering and raising the gutters like window shades.

It simply can’t be that easy.

And, now there is a new business in town; Non-continuous gutters.

So I guess since yesterday, when the gutters were full, he went up there, removed the gutter, installed this contraption, reattached the gutter, refilled it with leaves(?), just so he could do this?

No downspouts? No wonder he has a problem.

Better than the flame thrower.

First impression: Will the weight of rainwater cause it to tip?

Not likely the leaves would just slide out, but it lets you use a hose on it from the ground. Brilliant, actually.
