Hoo boy, Steenz has stepped into it. I admire her courage to go into this subject that half the country considers satanic and the other half wonders what wrong with the first half.

To be clear I think there is nothing wrong with men dressing up as women to read fairy tales to children.

Nothing is more “enriching” than sexualized shows.

Steenz = based (which is good for those who aren’t terminally online). This will also have the added benefit of purging the audience of any alt-right losers.

Remember: every accusation by conservatives is a confession.

I don’t have a single gay friend who thinks this is “enriching entertainment” for children.

What. Are. You. Blithering. On. About!?!?!? Oh, I see, the drag queen reading time? Steenz being on it’s side? People getting all upset over it? Over her mentioning it? Nope. Don’t see.

Yea drag show story time is the end of this strip for me. Tuck those balls in and wrap that sausage down your butt crack to read stories to the lil ones. WTH is wrong with this messed up world. It’s the reading and words that count, Not some guy dressed up as a woman. Keep that crap in your own play room, bed room or house.

“Drag Story Time”? Don’t let the Republicans hear you say that!

Steez, you’re doing a great job. People will probably unsubscribe because they see nothing wrong with overtly sexualized events like Victoria’s Secret runway shows being broadcast on national networks for years but, clutch their pearls about a guy putting on a sparkly dress and reading to kids. These people forget that most sexual abuse towards children happens at the hands of family members and close family friends (parents, boyfriends, uncles), not random strangers at a public event.

I don’t actually get “Drag Story Time.” I’m not sure what it adds to a reading to have it done by a man pretending to be a woman, or why you just don’t hire a woman to read to the kids.

At the same time, the Republicans calling these people “groomers” and implying that they’re pedophiles is utterly disgusting and evil, and ACTUALLY immoral. Drag, I don’t understand. False accusations and defamation, I despise.

Nope. They are going to drag Alyssa to bed and read her a story.

And now the show is going to support the sexualization of children that is rampant in all drag shows that involve kids? Sad. Only the most ignorant parents would ever do as we see in today’s strip. Unfortunately, there are lots of very ignorant folks who foolishly support mixing transvestites and children. What adults choose to do with each other, that’s quite okay. But we have many laws against sexualizing children for a reason.

A man dressed as Mrs. Doubtfire would not be an objectionable entertainer reading to children. A man dressed as Spicy Sucknuggetz would not be an objectionable entertainer in an adult venue. Some things that are fine for grownups are not appropriate for children. I don’t know why there’s such a problem distinguishing this.

Ask yourself this question. Why is it so important to these people to dress up like a woman and read pron to children. Any guesses?

This strip dropped 15 followers from yesterday, moving from 31,041 to 31,026, which is a huge drop. It will be interesting to see if this continues as a trend or bounces back.

You will be at a library. Find something to read and sit nearby. With the other older kids and parents.

Why do I have the feeling that (a) whoever was supposed to be the storyteller ends up not doing it for whatever reason, and (b) there’s a last-minute replacement to save the day – Dean (er, “Deanna”)?

A drag show isn’t really my cup of tea but so long as it is made clear the sort of content will be at the library then it doesn’t bother me. That way those who want to go can participate and those who don’t want any to go can give it a pass. A few years ago our local theater director pushed progressive content and themes in plays—even going so far as to rewrite several classics in the process. In addition, he withheld this important information regarding this sort of content. So a lot of people who were not expecting this were angry and disappointed they had spent good money on content they did not care to see. It caused a lot of problems. I believe we should all be free to see whatever we wish to see and which we desire our children to see—-but the place sponsoring the show has an obligation to fully disclose such content. And I also believe all productions should be free of protesters whether it be a drag show or a conservative talking about his/her faith. We need civility and freedom of expression or no one will ever hear a point of view except the one we already subscribe to. I’ll keep reading to see how Steenz handles this rather volatile subject!!!! Tune in tomorrow…..

Plus the Christmas Pantomime is rife with cross dressing characters, if anyone is familiar with that. Those plays are family fare at Christmas time and the kids just love them for their slap stick humor…

I have long believed that every human being has the right to be the person they were meant to be. Only when you are true to yourself can you really shine. That doesn’t necessarily mean everyone will love or accept you—-nor should they be forced to do that. Just love your life and be yourself. And it will be a life well lived. Be kind to others, even when they revile you, even when it’s hard. Kindness always overcomes hate so don’t be a spreader of hate. Thank you Steenz for this thoughtful conversation today. I’ll be here tomorrow to see what happens..,,
