A.I. advanced?? Everything that I have ever read that was generated by A.I. looked like it was typed by monkeys on a keyboard! The writing which A.I. produces is so eye-rollingly atrocious that it shouldn’t even qualify as writing – it’s nothing but clumps of stock expressions clearly thrown together by a robot. I’m surprised that Peirce is apparently treating A.I. as though it were a worthy and sophisticated tool, and even more surprised that Nate – individualistic artist and creator and father of Dr Cesspool, etc. – has actually stooped to using it! I would have thought that Nate would despise A.I. and be the last person in the BN Universe to wish to use it.
Caught a bogus paper that way (advanced vocabulary) once. Was reading the paper thinking this is really good. Then I got to the part where a program’s “binaries” got mentioned and said woah! Started searching online and found about 95% of the paper was direct cut and paste (not cited).
For all the complaining people did yesterday, I’d say this was not a “ho-hum” expected turn. I find this amusing. And looks like it will go into next week. The thing is, we all want Nate to get his so badly he will change, but that would end the strip. Nate has to be brash, boastful, full of himself. We’ve seen some changes, like when he got Angie as a gf, and he realized he had some problems he had to hide. But the big problems that are what some say makes the comic so predictable is what makes the comic stable. If Nate were to mature and grow up, Peirce would have to actually age the characters and change big things. This isn’t “For Better or for Worse” we are reading. The majority of our comics are like this. It’s up to Peirce if it changes and how.
This strip doesn’t make much sense. Would be using AI be the first thing to come to mind if a student does work that seems like it is too good for what they are capable of? No. I think that what she would have asked is if he used google, or used Francis. Even though he is cheating doesn’t mean that he is using AI. Multiple times before has Nate used Francis to get him the answers to a school assignment. Why would she just now say that he is using a Chatbot?
Hey, at least we get to see Ms Clarke! Seeing her is a rare treat lol! She’s one of my favorite teachers in the strip; she’s very chill. Had this been Mrs Godfrey, Nate may have not even been given a chance to confess he’d done wrong and used AI. She has a quick fuse a lot of the time- especially with Nate
We all knew this was coming Nate you should’ve known but like every time you don’t and you never learn from your lesson that’s what’s making this comic bland 2/10 we knew this would happen same old same old
So,,, Nate goes thru the entire paper and puts in misspellings and grammatical errors, so they don’t suspect he used AI. But he doesn’t bother to replace words he does not know the meaning of?

Leave it to Nate not to read his “own” paper. Sure, he put in a few mistakes but he didn’t really scrutinize it.
