Normally my money would be on the faery folk. Pucky is right, I can confirm the long beard consequence of messing with them. But with both Lupin and Ora Zella on the case, they may have met their match!
As promised, for anyone skipping dailies, I am informing you that the “Mole-pocalypse” arc is over and we have returned to regular programming as of Wednesday, 11/8.
Terry Pratchett contended that cats were fairy folk. Pointed ears and hair you want to stroke. You put milk out at the door for them to appease them so they’ll treat your household kindly. They come and go in mysterious ways by night. When they’re happy they make a lovely sound. And they’re merciless little fiends who play with their food.
Trouble would be sure to not only eat that fairy, but would catch it in a death grip even if he had to jump over 6 feet to get it (hubby and I have seen him doing this when he goes after the fly folk).
I think fairies would taste like wildflowers and bee bread, silver and moonlight, and probably certain death, but I think Ora Zella could get away with it, if she only licked the fairy?
Make that chart a lot bigger, Puck. It’s an important safety warning. Dealings with the Good People, the Tylwyth Teg, are always dicey. If you find yourself alone and palely loitering, when the sedge has wither’d from the lake, and no birds sing, then you’ve got off lightly. Most people are doomed.
I’m a Scot. The fae are real. The stories my gran told me when I was a wee one were hair raising! “Ye canna be a Scot and nae believe in the fae,” she’d start. Oh, I do. On a side note, panel three is absolutely adorable!! I need that on a mug!
BABY FANGS!!!! Love little Ora looking up like that. Reminds me of Diesel and playing with his toys (gotta tucker him out so we ALL can get some sleep). Love the look of Puck chasing Ora.
OT: Cranberry Space Goo! While I don’t watch a lot of television, yesterday I saw the ad for Ocean Spray Cranberry Space Goo, which included three cans of it happily jiggling away on a platter while the people around the table were basically losing it. I guess that means it is truly Holiday Season!
If you have ever seen a stage production of Peter Pan, Tinkerbell is portrayed by a tiny spotlight. Check out the Mary Martin version for a great example.
For those who like reading “Urban Fantasy,” there’s a series that explores the darker side of the world of the fae—The Alex Craft Series by Kalayna Price.

(And there are fairy cats – the Cait Sidhe in Celtic lore, the bakeneko in Japan, and doubtless many more I’m not thinking of just now.)

As for Ora Z eating the Faery folk, I hear they taste just like chicken. Unconfirmed reports though.

What is happening here?
Something’s going on that’s not quite clear
Some dot of purRe delights
Cats gonna have a party, it’s starting now, right?
Oh, what a feeling
Somthing’s circling on the ceiling
Oh, what a feeling
Somthing’s circling on the ceiling
There’s roaming a dot and that’s good
Sounds of joy can be heard in the neighborhood
The kitties startin’ a-climb lamps and walls
Ooh, it looks like everybody is having a ball
Oh, what a feeling
Somthing’s circling on the ceiling
Come on!
Woo!
Alright
Everybody starts to lose control when the amewsing is right
If you see Ora Zella lookin’ around for having a tasty bite
The only thing they wanna do tonight
Is go ’round and ’round and throw things upside down
Come on let’s get down the lamp!
(Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey)
So come on, let’s get loose
Don’t hold back ‘cause ain’t no use
Hard to keep your paws on the ground
’Cause when they catch a fairy they tear your walls and nightgown…
Oh, what a feeling
Somthing’s circling on the ceiling
Oh, what a feeling
Somthing’s circling on the ceiling

A fairy casts her spell through the night
And wouldn’t Ora love to taste her?
Takes to the air like a sprite in flight
And Lupin’s gonna chase her
All her life Ora’s never seen
Fairy makin’ graceful spins
Would you say Ora has an obsession?
Well, she and Lupin
She leaps like a cat or a shark
And that li’l imp is fearless
She lives her life as one playful lark
With attitude that’s peerless
All her life Ora’s never seen
Anything not fine cuisine
Would you say she’d eat six or seven?
How about fourteen?
Isn’t she a scream?
(Loose cannon)
(Imagine!)
Won’t be confined
Fairy state of mind
Don’t be unkind
Pucky will remind

Panel six – Ora Z reaching so hard that her shirt rises up and reveals her midsection – nice detail! And she makes a scritchy sound.

I wonder where Goldie & Iggy are. I suspect Iggy hopes OZ catches a lot of fairies but doesn’t eat them, so he can line them up & admire them…

Puckmosis: Congratulations on your win at hoops, Lupinium!
Lupinium: Wicket was a worthy foe. I hope I’m in the shape he’s in when I’m his age. Did you know Ora Z took the silver in potato ball!
Puck: I didn’t know she was competing.
Lupinium: She wasn’t.
Puck: I hope they get it back without too much damage.
Lupin: No worries. Let’s go to the buffet before all the food is gone.
Beatrixia: Hi, guys! Have you tried the sweet and savory honey?
Puck: It’s quite delicious. My compliments to the chef!
Patrice Possum: Thanks, mate. But the real credit goes to this little lady here.
Puck: Kira! How are things at the Xanadu Hive?
Kira (Terpsichore): Everything’s great. We’re negotiating with the Fae to create new recipes.
Puck: I’m sure it will all be magical!

Puck is right. They’re extremely tricky. Catching one could doom you to a very long life of humiliating servitude in Fairyland.
