—) Long before the “Venus Paradise Color By Number” sets became popular, Ernst Kirchner and his European artistic cohorts designed the first versions for adults for use at beer-drinking parties (that often ended as orgies). They delighted in choosing the art pencils at random, rather than by designated numbers.

To their surprise, the paintings sold quite well, and thus that genre of 20th century “Artistic Expressionism” became accepted by rich connoisseurs with lots of intelligence but no brains. (— (—

Has anyone noticed that most of the bizarre and downright weird paintings presented seem to be painted by Germans…no disrespect intended…just sayin’?
