R.I.P FROSTY THE SNOWMAN

Snowman can’t take the heat.

There must have—sob!—been some magic—sob!—in that old silk hat they found….

I love that little guy!

He had a meltdown.

I’m a happy snowman,

white and fat.

Here are my buttons,

here is my hat.

When the sun comes out you’ll hear me say,

Whew, it’s hot as a melt away.

Technically, he did.

Makes me wonder how thick the snow on the ground is, because usually a firmly packed 5 foot tall snowman lasts longer in the Sun than the loose snow on the ground does

This is very similar to one of my childhood books, Snow, in which the kids built a snowman named Ned, which didn’t last very long.

Reminds me of the “Sensitive Snoopy” strip where Snoop’s snowman buddy melts. Snoopy’s sensitive side comes out, but not when it comes time to eat the melted snowman’s carrot nose!!

Where does one get coal nowadays for the snowman’s eyes? Is barbecue charcoal an acceptable substitute? I wouldn’t want to offend the snowman builder’s guild…

I would love to be able to have as deep a sleep as Woodstock had…

Wait till he watches the Snowman and it’s sequel.

Don’t tell Woodstock that actually the poor Snowman is deceased

He was just being considerate and didn’t want to wake him.

It’s okay, Woodstock, the snowman will be rebuilt.

The shame of losing his carrot nose was too much for him.

“He’ll be back again someday” as the song goes…..

Ohh, don’t cry, Woodstock. Your snowman’s not gone for good. You see, he was made out of Christmas snow, and Christmas snow can never disappear completely. Oh, it sometimes goes away for almost a year at a time, and takes the form of spring and summer rain. But you can bet your boots that when a good, jolly December wind kisses it, it will turn into Christmas snow all over again.

“But the good news is he was made of Christmas snow….so all you have to do is wait for a good, jolly December wind to kiss it….”
