“This hat came in. Not sure why they brought it here. We told Tracy to send his least important detective down. We thought it would be Sam, but here you are.”
This can’t be good. If he were alive it would be the ER, instead they are examining an ex person (parrot ?). P.1. Tracy’s laser eyes almost light up the dark. Glad I am not in his field of vision as the intensity is incendiary.
Was thinking Lee should have sensed some level of danger BackDoor Man could be in and stuck around. After All they’re investigating multiple murders. (☞ ಠ_ಠ)☞
This is why, when questioning a potential witness, it is important for the detective to leave his/her card with the individual and say, “Call me if you think of anything else.” It makes it easier for the M.E. to know who to call when they show up in the morgue having been killed by a letter opener.
I still wonder that BDG’s body made it to the ME without the MCU being involved in processing the crime scene like they did with the other murders in this arc.
What will the next story bring when this one’s done ? Will we get a real Gouldesque villain and a fantastic caper ? Will we get a criminal gang led by a ruthless criminal leader perpetrating criminal crimes of the worst kind ? Will we get action and fast paced storytelling ? How about flying cars ? How about Diet Smith coming to the rescue with some clever gadget ? I know the art by Shelley Pleger will be great to the greatest degree . That’s just a plain fact but I want Dick Tracy ! I want violence and blood and gore and criminal underhandedness and double crossing and bullet riddled corpses piling up and beautiful gun molls and thievery and heists and mayhem and murder . Give me what I want ! ! !
1-SAM:Did my stare burn holes in Lee’s shirt? That’s exactly where I was looking!?!LEE:Typical Tracy Tripe! WTH does this hundred year old crapola prove???
2-DT: Hey Lee…are you familiar with a Mr. Backroom Guy? LEE: Yeah. I forgot to tell you that he’s the one who gave me this bookplate. Is that him? DT: Only if there’s phones in heaven!
LEE: Ooopsie. I guess I shouldn’t have sat where everyone could see us when he was ratting out his boss. DT: We all make mistakes, Lee. Heck – I hired Sam! TALK ABOUT MISTAKES!
SAM/LIZ/LEE: HA HA! THAT WAS A BONAR ALL RIGHT! HOW STUPID! TITANIC PROPORTIONS ERROR! HA HA!
He helped her and that evil woman killed him! She doesn’t realize that only makes the trail to her demise even easier to see. Waa ha ha! Except for the bookseller. Poor guy.
It’s not clear what the Medical Examiner would have to offer at this moment that was new and crucial, but apparently he’s found (out) something urgent. So, Tracy sends Lee to see the M.E.
Echoing G.T.‘s comments: Bring back the intricate storylines, grotesque ruthless villains, and bullets coursing through cortexes closeups!! Dump the “woke” affirmative action/politically correct nonsense completely contrary to the hard~boiled detective characters that drew Gould’s still~loyal fanbase to the strip over many decades!

Good morning™, everyone!
I suppose the M.E. has a dead body, one that Lee might be familiar with.

Lee, already creeped out by Sam’s insane, slasher grin, sensed trouble was brewing when Tracy called her name.
“Time for my 6th cup of coffee”, she thought to herself.
And now, to entertain you until the next installment of; “As the worm inches along”, here’s today;
GOAT JOKE OF THE DAY!"
Why is it so hard to have a good conversation with a goat?
Because they’re always butting in!
Til’ tomorrow, sleep well!

Do people still use telephones with cables/cords? Even in old comics? Even in offices?

My comment that day: “I’m sure Lee will see him again – in the morgue!”

Tracy has dealt with rich cuckoos before.Remember Miss Egghead-=-1958.
She resorted to murder, attempted murder of police officer, child abuse, and abandoning Tracy on an island. Why?
So she could avoid paying a heavy fine for promoting cockfighting.
