A couple of characters in the Pogo strip decades ago seemed to think the 13th of every month was called “Friday the 13th,” so they would describe today as “Friday the 13th comes on a Friday this month!”
Why the terror? Friday is either the last day of work or a day of rest and reflection depending on the dominant religion where you are, and 13 is a prime number composed of 2 prime numbers. Sounds like a potentially good day to me!
I know the “history” of Friday the 13th, with the Catholic Church having ambushed and decimated the Knights Templar on Friday the 13th, but, for modern times, I’ve always thought we should be more worried about Monday the 13th. As P51Strega said It’s a Friday. Mondays are already worse, add the superstition of the number 13 to that and I think it’s something we should be watching out for.
