That shell made great protection.

The cave in the background would probably have been a better choice.

I was walking home from a thunderstorm one night.

I was wondering where lightning came from, and then it struck me.

Finally, the thunderstorm cleared.

It’s rain of terror was over!

One of the joys of parenthood is to snuggle into your child’s bed during a thunderstorm to make sure they’re not scared.

But my daughter and her husband insist they can manage on their own.

There’s a big thunderstorm. The road is blocked by a big mudslide. A little boy asks his dad, “Why does earth fall down like that?”

His dad answers, “It’s terrain.”

Actually, there was a severe thunderstorm warning in St. Louis yesterday evening. More thunder than storm, though. If there was rain, it was after 8:30 CDT. (It’s time to end Daylight Saving Time.)

Sometimes it’s nice to be needed. But, this is going too far.

I had one dog who would hide in a closet during thunderstorms. Either that or he would try to share your pillow. The second dog we had wanted to go outside and see if he could bark louder than the thunder. Same with fireworks.

Any shell will do in a storm.
