And you’ve waited until they’re on the highway to mention that?! Something tells me you actually enjoy irritating your parents for no reason on purpose!
A loose, untamed tiger on the prowl… Oh my! Calvin is clearly looking out for the welfare fo his parents. What shall happen? Only tomorrow’s strip may tell.
If this were the 21st century, they’d probably be using a Smartphone’s GPS to get to the chapel or whatever. But only the Mom would still know the address…
And of course, I love the bouncing vehicles in the first panel!
Interesting that the truck is drawn as if photographed using a focal plane shutter going from bottom to top in the image plane! Also the car next to the truck, to some extent. But the car Calvin is in is not!
For anyone new who had not seen the baseball arc before, you can see the missing part in the original run. It begins here, although of course the first week was shown last week:
I have never used GPS before. I rely on going to Mapquest and putting in leaving from address and going to address and printing up directions and pciture of route. I would be the navigator that way when me and the ex husband has to travel. The only time I got us lost was when we went up to NY on a last minute decision to see Gram in the hospital when she got very sick a month before she passed away. I misread what exit we were suppose to take to get of thruway, have been in the car thousands of times with Dad driving and go there I was sure I knew way by heart but I didn’t. Well, we ended up taking an exit that only takes you to the big mall off the thruway and after 3 or 4 different times of getting back on the thruway and ending up at the mall again we finally called Dad and he was able to get us out of there and back on the thruway to right exit. I think it was probably about 4 years before I lived that one down.

Now with GPS, he wouldn’t need her.

Ever been to a wedding where one of the rules was “No tigers allowed”?

I never read Calvin originally but if he had Hobbes with him, I can imagine the mayhem at the wedding the two would create.

Dad’s talking organization with the most impulsive kid in comics – or the world. Nice try but no goal.

My wife is directionally challenged, and maps/gps are just beyond her grasp. But I’m pretty good at it and she relies on me. I’m good with that.

He forgot to mention that an overnight without Hobbes will build character…

The tension is killing me. Is there some place where I can look this up?

LOL… Give it up, Calvin. Hobbes is sleeping alone tonight – and so are you.

Turning a car around can tend to be a bit difficult when all four wheels are off of the ground.
