Hobbes can be Prime Minister—and issue an edict that would throw the King/Tyrant in the dungeon!

And so it begins……

However did we get to this retrospective moment? This club and its name have been in existence for years. Has the trauma of no television sent Calvin into his memories for entertainment?

Too late, Calvin.

Should Calvin ever grow up, he will learn he is wrong about women being slimy.

You both want to be in charge, someone needs to be sergeant of arms!

Sergeants may not run wars but they make winning possible .. if anyone actually wins a war.

Ha! The only tyrants around here are your parents!

Don’t remember when this arc ran last but it seems we are on the repeat cycle once more.

The King and Tyrant is the hand in the sock puppet. Dictator wannabe, too.

Haha dumb club membership of 2 and both want to be the big cheese. And BTW Calvin someday you’ll realize that girls are not slimy and they’ll most likely think YOU are when you finally wake up and realize THEY are the queens and we are the lowly peons.

Officership in the club is severely restricted.

All chiefs and no Indians?

This is how we end up with governments like Iran’s, where there is a President, but also a Prime Minister, but also a Supreme Leader.

Naturally Calvin wants to be king and tyrant. President was only a step to that. Hmmm, sounds familiar.

When I was a kid, we too folded newspaper hats whenever we needed a special hat for something.

And, like it is at the end of every G.R.O.S.S. meeting (following a massive fight over leadership and the antics of those two…

So, this club is both a republic and a kingdom? Nice of both worlds of government… I wonder if there is a country in the world -in real life - that has both a president and a king…

It makes no difference to Calvin if Hobbes is president as long as he’s the main ruler of the club.

I thought Calvin was Dictator For Life.

Love this, of course this is just a riff on a much earlier “Our Gang” episode with Spanky and Alfalfa arguing about who is president of the "He Man Woman Haters " Club. Nothing new under the sun eh !

The naming of G.R.O.S.S., and the electing of Calvin as Dictator-For-Life and Hobbes as President and First Tiger! It’s also fun when Hobbes acts as childish as Calvin.
