Elly has her dream and notice how it differs from her reality. Not only does she now know how to run, but more importantly, she looks great in her track suit AND she is is more petite and has a smaller butt than Connie.
Just the other night I had a series of dreams all beginning with me hitting my alarm clock…which is funny because I haven’t used the alarm on my clock in years. The clock itself is still there but I use my phone for the alarm. Anyway, there was a string of about 3 or 4, all starting the same as this strip. Different times, tho.
I’ve always hated to exercise. I can garden all day or walk for miles or clean up a kitchen, but don’t ask me to go to a gym! I’ve joined running groups just to have company in my misery. I’ve joined gyms hoping the expense would be a catalyst, but the relief of not going is wonderful. Just the smell of a gym makes me want to scream, “Get me outta here!” I can trace all this back to my high school gym teachers. There was trauma there for sure!
I’ve done this more times than I can count regarding having a dream about work…then the alarm would sound, I’d wake up thinking I had already been working for hours, and now I had to get up and do it all over again…ugh! I learned if I hit the snooze alarm and was able to doze off and then wake up dreaming of something else, it sure made getting out of bed a whole lot easier. Of course now that I’m retired, if I wake up dreaming about work, I just smile, turn over and go back to sleep!

An illustration of the old saying"the hardest step in a running program is the one out the door".

Don’t you just hate having those dreams within a dream within a dream scenarios? It’s like one of those Matroska dolls.

I’ve done that, except the alarm going off was part of the dream.

Has the dog’s passing been accepted, or are we going to be seeing comments eulogizing Farley for the remainder of this strip’s run?
