Countries with aging populations could solve their problems by allowing more immigration. OR we could just be xenophobic morons.

I wonder if labeling food as “formally living things” would affect sales.

American TV has certainly “Americanized” not just Australia but the U.K. If an Australian woman refers to a group of other women as “you guys,” she probably internalized it from American TV.

I live in a country where some of us eat beaver tail in either sweet or savoury form and finish the meal with a scoop or two of tiger tail ice cream.

    Other fun facts about Belgium:

    • “If It’s Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium”

    • “On Earth, Belgium refers to a small country. Throughout the rest of the galaxy, Belgium is the most unspeakably rude word there is.”

    • When in Belgium, you don’t need to ask for Belgian waffles. Just “wafels” will do.

In Japan, foreigners are called “Gaijin” which translates to “Alien”, no matter how perfectly you speak Japanese, you will still be a Gaijin! In many ways, Japan and France’s cultures are closely linked.

I worked in a pizza parlor in the ’70s. We had a lot of South Asian customers. I finally realized that they probably saw the cheese pizza as vegetarian fast food, American paneer on naan with tomato sauce.
