There were 6 screws and paperboard back protecting everyone from a 25,000 volt connector to the TV tube and the rest of the system running at 250 volts with capacitors. You didn’t have to go looking for it. We had some defective TV anode connectors and it would come looking for you.
Those were the days. I used to repair my own TV but I was an electronics technician. Color CRT TVs have 25,000 volts on the big tube, which can persist for many hours after the set is turned off. That’s heart-stopping voltage.

Are there still analog broadcasts? Think that tube tv would require an adapter that would cost more than a new tv.
