THIS is pure genius. The only incantation my girls require is the sound of the can opening. But heaven forbid the food suddenly become……Healthy! No Kursed Kibble in my house. LOL

Everybody knows kitties come running for the great taste of Cr@#*1p!!!! (I wish I could take credit for that, but it belongs to my cousin.) Cat forbid it should be non-GMO, grain-free, potato-free, full of vitamins and complete balanced nutrition! Noooo! (Don’t tell Foxy. She thinks Tiki Cat Luau Velvet is Churu!)

This is what the devoted slaves of She-Whose-Diet-Is-Of-Supreme-Importance do to sustain Her.

    1. Make broth. Several turkey wings, half tsp vinegar, 1.7 litres water in pressure cooker. Boil, skim, put lid on and pressure cook 30 minutes. When cool, strain and decant into 250ml containers. Freeze.

    2. Meat. Bake chicken liver, chop small. Chop chicken hearts, thighs, breasts. Combine 1kilo breast, 1 kilo thigh, 100 gm heart, 50 gm liver. Pack into small containers, each big enough to contain one meal. Freeze.

    3. Serving: two meals and one container of broth have defrosted overnight in fridge. Take bowl, microwave one and a half tablespoons of broth till hot. Add meat for one meal, stir till temperatures equalised.

    4. Add 5gm/one eighth tsp of Carnivite™ – a vitamin/mineral supplement for cats. Mix.

    5. Place onto plate. Put plate on rubber mat. Bow continuously while backing away.

If that seems a bit complicated, you can try the food Tsar Nicholas I fed his cat Vashka.

    1. Two watchglassfuls each of Beluga caviar and golden caviar, poached lightly in champagne.

    2. Add fine minced dormouse, imported from France.

    3. Sauté till golden in unsalted butter, yolk of woodcock’s egg, and spoonful of fresh hare’s blood.

    4. Broil the whole mixture in thick cream.

    5. Sprinkle with chervil and the dried cheese of Sukhumi.

    6. On hot days, moisten with a little more champagne.

At the French Food Exporters Conference of 1836, held in Paris.

Exporter 1: I sell wine to the King of Sweden.

Exporter 2: I sell cheese to the Emperor of Austria.

Exporter 3: I sell brandy to the Queen of Britain.

Exporter 4: I sell dormice to the Tsar of Russia. Hey, where is everyone going?

I sell him some champagne, too.

    Hello?

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

Thomios: I am happy to announce we are having a banquet tonight of Tasty Tilapia with a vegetable medley and crispy potatoes.

Queen Catshepsut the Golden: That’s lovely, Thomios. Now, before we eat we must sing the vegetable medley.

All: Broccoli, red pepper, carrots, and spinach, too!

I can sing a medley, sing a medley, sing a medley, too!

Eat them with your eyes, eat them with your eyes,

    Sing every veggie you see!

You can sing a medley, sing a medley

    Sing along with me!

Queen Cat: And now we eat!

Iggy: How did the vegetable medley come about?

Puckmosis: There was an ancient scroll from Julia Kitten that contained the words. It was also discovered that the medley was delicious.

Ora Z: I think it’s time to explore the 651.5 at the Pretty Good Library.

Ah yes, humans projecting their baby talk beliefs that their pets can understand them. It is a scientifically proven fact that if the word cute was removed from the language, the females of the species would cease to exist. But then if the word beer was removed from the language the males of the species would also cease to exist.

A normal Sunday Morning at our home

CAT: The Cat be with you.

    PEOPLE: and with your spirit.

CAT: have mercy on us, O Cat.

PEOPLE: For we have sinned against you.

CAT: show us, O Cat, your mercy.

PEOPLE: And grant us your salvation.

CAT (OR DEACON KITTEN): The Cat be with you.

    PEOPLE: and with your spirit.

CAT (OR DEACON KITTEN): A reading from the holy Gospel according to Mittens.

PEOPLE: Glory to you, O Cat…

This devotional goes on for some time until we are released to our individual cells in the cloister, to meditate on how we can make the world a better place for cats. Amen.

My daughter keeps a sign in the living room, “I work hard so my cats can have a better life.” This is true. She’s a junior high ESL instructor. I don’t work except to keep our eight cats well fed and safe. I posted sometime back about the long term health effects of cat treats. Would someone like to give their opinion? Thanks, for any replies.

I sing my cats The Kibble Song .

Sing me a song about cat food

A song with plenty of crunch

A tune of a bowl full of kibble

That will last me until lunch.

Roy will mew softly or go Mrrrr! but just a little bit. Poodle is very vocal and will… Well she screams “Sqwuuuuuaaaat!” loudly and coarsely. When she sees she is getting what she wants, it suddenly becomes a long musical trill of happiness, that varies in complexity followed by more Squatting until her face is in the bowl.

That is, given Ora Zella’s, ’ And also with you! ’ … :)
