Preferable to the Viet Nam admissions complex many faced. But CIAC bad, very bad. :(

As usual, Mrs. Olsen has nailed it. Quizzes are the basic training aids for the big time. Get the fundamentals down and the final will be a doddle [as the Australians say . . . or once did.]

This is literally what my comment was yesterday. Kids in school don’t get to make mistakes without consequences.

    2 + 2 still equals 4. Free solo shouldn’t allow a way around that.

A close look at 3rd grade scores has occurred at no college on this planet.

It’s true for everybody, so it’s a level field. On that score, anyway, but not others.

Testing should work in both directions. If the teacher discovers from the test results that most of the kids couldn’t accurately answer a question about, say, the order of the colors in the visible spectrum, it’s a sign that it hadn’t been adequately taught and should probably warrant a revision to the lesson plans to take another run at it.

Virtually everything is dash-industrial complex. It is the natural outcome of unregulated capitalism.

Back when America was Great Again, adults could work in a grocery store and buy a house within a few miles from where they worked. Now, many full time workers at Walmart qualify for food stamps.

If Mrs. Olsen has rock climbing experience, it must be from many, many years ago.

I love how he brings out her A-game. I think she does, too.
