I guess Tracy was out when B.O. came to show the “Hatmobile” to Junior. At least B.O. is smart enough to realize that the car would be good for fighting crime.

why is there focus in the third panel on Dick’s hat?…

in keeping with the hat theme?…

and please don’t tell me that Dick might consider the Hatmobile as a crime-fighting piece of equipment that MCU and/or TPD might consider using…

I can just see Tracy in the Bat suit. Sorry, Hat suit. And Sam as Robin. Would that make Crop Top Catwoman? Mee Owwwww…….

I only started reading the current Dick Tracy in the last few months. Do they still have the flying garbage cans? Maybe not, I don’t see the 2way wrist radios.

Wouldn’t Junior have told Tracy about the “hat mobile” by now? B.O. took him for a ride. Oh, when they got back to headquarters it was time for Junior to go home.

By George, it’s obvious Tracy didn’t read the newspaper. What is so compelling about a vehicle he must see it with his own eyes? B.O. is not about to rent his prize to the police department.

On second thought, Tracy wants to get out of the office for some fresh air.

Is this story supposed to be a comic interlude?

Tracy’s gonna love this ride and will be very interested to know about the box of mystery inna trunk. Great backgrounds in P.1 and P.2.

I’m guessing the name “Batmobile” has tighter copyright/trademark control than the physical look of the old TV show car?

Is this the first time B.O. got Tracy’s name right? He called him Macy in the past!

And Junior didn’t tell Tracy about this? Tracy doesn’t read the paper – except for articles that Sam show him?

It’s not like Tracy had a bank robber or anything for the MCU to be concerned with. Or is his faith in the power of coincidence, coupled with his ESP, so great that he knows Croppie had encountered BO and will pay a call while Dick is there?

For those of you keeping score, this is the eighth time the word “hatmobile” has appeared in this comic since its premiere on April 27 (one of those times it was hyphenated as hat-mobile, which I count.)

Shall we form an office pool? Guess how many times “hatmobile” will be said during this story.

It’s the hot hat-gripping action you’ve been craving!

Ah, I get it now…

I realize someone has probably mentioned this, but I can’t help but think this storyline is an easter egg calling back to how the outfit that made the Batman TV series in the 1960s also tried to make a Dick Tracy series.

Tracy finds the money in the trunk, arrests B.O. for robbing the bank. Case closed!

1-DT: Hello? Oh. Hi BO. Ugh. I feel like I got fleas just talking to him. Scratch scratch scratch

2-BO: Did you hear or read about the car I won? No? Wow. You really keep up on things don’t cha? Anyway, why don’t you come see it? Maybe even look in the spacious trunk for some reason.

3-DT: Sure. I always check the trunk first thing anytime I look at a car. Doesn’t everybody? Don’t you bother to come here – there’s nothing going on so I sent the rest of the squad home or else I’d bring them too! Be there in a jiff. Oh – and have Chick Tracy come greet me. Chick just makes everybody’s day so much brighter!

I sense a convergence in the force!

Croptop fights the law and loses.

A couple things…B.O. seldom calls Tracy his right name……also old B.O.would have very little knowledge of the car’s crime fighting techniques….and lastlyTracy grabbing his hat a nice touch showing his urgency in seeing the car…That’s…thats all folks!

This is the old Bob Oscar! Great to have him back!

Maybe it will be soon called the Tracymobile.
