The nest big thing will be a totally immersive mobile VR environment. Slip on the helmet and walk outside. Instead of the actual world you’ll get the fantasy of your choice. Your obnoxious neighbor is now a freindly gnome, and the bus is a flying carpet.
There actually was an app like that. It used the front camera to provide a small in screen image so you could see what was in front of you while looking at your mobile. Not sure if it still exists as I can’t remember the name.
It’s designed specifically for introverts. Notice someone up ahead who’s a Chatty Cathy and you don’t have time to kill a half an hour listening to an (ailing) Organ Recital? Use the Avoidomatic App to make it look like you were so engrossed with your phone that you honestly never saw them.

Couldn’t you just use the camera to do that?

At the mall yesterday, I just stood there and a young lady walked directly into me, She then looked at me like it was all my fault. :)
