Clocks striking thirteen? That’s 1pm in military time – must be a war story.

Just read (or write) your own story, Gracie. I know you’re going to be a writer when you grow up, why wait? Start writing now!

That’s pretty esoteric bedtime reading! I’m glad he gave up on her…Perhaps he shoulda used a kids’ book! ““The night Max wore his wolf suit and made mischief of one kind and another…”

I always liked, "“In a distant and second-hand set of dimensions, in an astral plane that was never meant to fly, the curling star-mists waver and part…”

Gracy has effectively used the favored tactic of generations for navigating around “parental discretion”! “1984” has lots of steamy sex, for the one of these I’ve read. But it’s “literature” so around Papi we go!

My favorite opening lines still are: “Once upon a time there was a Martian named Valentine Michael Smith.”, and “I always get the shakes before a drop.” The first is from “Stranger in A Strange Land”; the second, “Starship Troopers” – both from the master, Robert A Heinlein.
