Aww, sweetest thing I’ve heard Opal say…but in regards to Limpid Lizards, remark, it’s up to EARL whether or not to lose weight and whether or not he wants to make his life about being healthy…or not.
My daughter used to “fluff” my chunky belly like it was a pillow and then lie her head on it and watch T.V. on the couch with me…. Later on she taught her step-daughter to do the same… sigh I miss those days, my daughter is in her 40’s and my Step-Granddaughter is in her mid 20’s….

Don’t listen to her, Earl. The shrew is just wanting to collect on the life insurance when you keel over from obesity related illness.

If he looses weight then it will make Opal look overweight.

Opal, the word is “paunchy” not “poochy” ……. that said, Roscoe is a a very good “paunch” in his own right.

Opal might say, “Honey, I like you just the way you are … just don’t get any worse.”

It would appear he likes the thigh, not the stomach, Opal. Learn basic anatomy.

One of the very few times we’ve seen Opal actually being nice to Earl.

@Limpid Lizard… ever consider Earl isn’t perfect? It’s sexist to call Opal a shrew; Earl is certainly no paragon, but I don’t call him names.

hat’s the sweetest thing that Opal has said to Earl in a long time. Better savor the moment, Earl!

The response to Opal should be, you need to lose weight too. So let’s start working out together. Pretty sure she’ll stop nagging Earl.

Earl, I’m glad that Opal (and most of us readers) love you just the way you are. Don’t alter the “profile”.

At that age go for quality instead of quantity – so have another jelly donut or three.

From time to time mean people feel a tinge of remorse and decide to throw a bone to their victims. Human nature is weird.
