Is there any form of makework less productive than making a bed?

Looks like Calvin’s imagination failed him this time. Usually, his cardboard-box time machine or transmogrifier worked perfectly—in his mind.

Nowadays many young adults don’t make the bed anyway. The new sheets I bought aren’t wide enough to tuck in at the sides, which I didn’t realise till I got them home. I went back and spoke to the salesperson and was told “Oh they’re all that width now. People don’t make the beds the old fashioned way any more.” Translation, the manufacturer saves material and money making narrow sheets.

Just like my daughter. She spends 10x the effort avoiding a simple task than actually doing the task

always put off for tomorrow what you can get away with not doing today!

I make my bed as soon as I get out of it. Some days it’s my only accomplishment.

I stopped making my bed when I read that letting it dry out was healthier.

When I read the fourth panel as a kid, I didn’t get it. But now I understand

That’s it, Calvin…celebrate the wins! Regardless of how small, a win is a win !

I still make my bed every day…it just looks nicer, too.

Surprised Mom wasn’t giving Calvin heck for still not making his bed. But the robot did its job, in a roundabout kind of way.

Calvin was ahead of his time. The kids in the current Nancy strip actually have a robotics club at school (although it hasn’t been featured for a while).

If you leave xmas decorations up long enough, you don’t have to put them up again

I have some co-workers who are going to be scared. For years, I’ve been telling them not to worry about automation taking their jobs, because no one would invent a machine that does absolutely nothing.

I just LOVE Hobbes!

Hubby and I make our bed every morning after our first cup of coffee. That way we have accomplished ONE thing for the day!

That’s BS the salesperson gave you. You bought the wrong size. They come single, double, queen, king, etc.

When I change the sheets weekly, I make the bed with the clean sheets.
