John is such an innocent. He clearly believes his wife hit him accidentally trying to get the bug. Little does he know, but Elly never hits him accidentally.
There was one time when I was a kid when my family and I stayed the night in a crummy motel that actually provided bug spray in each room, along with the KJV Bible! Surprisingly, I slept like a log that night.
When I was a kid we visit my Grandma and she and I’d have to sleep on the sleeping porch. I learned to sleep with the covers over my head. Mosquitos and my Grandma snoring.
John should know (as long as he has been married) that there are some things you NEVER say to your wife—especially in bed where you are ‘mucho’ vulnerable ‘to attack’ ! ! ! !
When I was 18 I stayed at a motel with my family in Oklahoma. My parents in one room and my sister and myself in another. I shook the sheet out in the morning and there was a huge spider in the bed. I think that was the closest I ever came to having a heart attack and I’m 72 now.
Mosquitos (the females) will “bite” more than once, so he’s wrong about that. They are also not attracted to perfumes, hairspray, and such, so he’s wrong about that as well.

In addition to staying at a fleabag motel; the Pattersons have to deal with mosquitoes. At least April stopped bouncing on the beds.

Actually, all that perfume stuff will better protect her. Mosquitoes can smell the CO2 comming off our bodies, that attracts them.

Mosquitoes and no-seeums (sadly) love me. It’s the time of the year when my fragrance is Deep Woods Off.
