Glad to see Wesley is both within walking distance of the cats and did actually care on some level. Also it’s sad to see both him and rainbow sad. (Please Georgia name the rest of them)
I really don’t like this story line. My nagging fear is that the apartment maintenance men will leave one of the doors open and my boys will get scared and bolt. (They’re both chipped, but it doesn’t make one iota of difference.)
Loaner Cat has gotten too old to want to venture outside anymore. She’s happy to sit in front of any open door and just enjoy the breeze, but the two or three times she’d gotten out when she was young, she’d make it about a foot from the door and flatten into a carpet and refuse to move until I picked her up. She wasn’t going anywhere. If I put her harness on her, she’d take a few steps, but that was it. There’s not an ancestor’s bone in her body.
Raccoon update! Our raccoons are the best raccoons. I won’t hear any argument. We have five mommas right now: two sets of two babies, one set of three, and two singletons. Plus Plushie Bear the big male, five yearling males who have banded together after being kicked out by their mums, and Possum Buddy the unsocialized weirdo who bonded with an opossum after being orphaned as a baby. Tonight all mommas and babies had a playdate on my back patio and the babies were playing King of the Kiddie Pool while the mommas went around hunting snakes. I used to have a problem with water moccasins before the raccoons moved in, now they dispatch all snakes without mercy. There is nothing in the world cuter than baby raccoons in a kiddie pool. I gave them a couple of kongs and they take turns hunting it in the water. Getting a night vision camera for the back yard has been a wonderful adventure.
Alice-Ata: It’s an honor and a pleasure to meet you, Nezumi-San.
Nezumi-San: The pleasure is mine. I have always wanted to meet the Four Egyptian Royal Procurers. That is why I have joined the delegation unofficially.
Agnes-Ata: Do you know where we can find origami paper nearby?
Nezumi-San: On board our ship there is paper available, but I have been unable to take it by myself.
Ta-Natash: Of course. There’s the first rule of Procurement.
All: Never try to take anything you can’t lift.
Coming back from the ship
Violet-Ifa: Oh, there’s Beatrixia and one of the delegation. Where are you guys headed?
Bea: This is Shisho-San, the Royal Librarian to Japan. We’re going to the Great Pyramid to see the No Longer Hidden Library.
Shisho-San: I see you have a ream of paper. What is it for?
Nezumi-San: Oh, we’re just taking this to the Artisans for an origami demo. Ohariko-san knows all about it, of course.

Panel 4 would make a great greeting card. Wherever you go……Whatever you do……. I hope there’s cheese!

Yes, Alice, you can definitely help! Please, that would be wonderful.

Maybe the Raccoons and Opossums can help and keep on the lookout too. Even Jules, he sure gets around.

Everyone’s worried, and rightfully so.
I’ve had that scare. At least Achilles made his way back both times, whereas Honor never did.

For some reason I find Wesley’s sentiment to be touching. Sure, it’s all about cheese, but he does seem saddened.

Oh, where, oh, where
Has our little Sophie gone?
Oh, where, oh, where
Can she be?
With her ears perked up
And his tail puffed out,
Oh, where, oh, where
Can she be?
Oh where, oh where
Has our little Sophie gone?
Oh, where, oh, where
Can she be?

Wesley actually seems concerned. Very nice. I hope we see both the perspective of Sophie and the searchers this week.

She’s sittin’ in a sad situation
From a thicket to miscommunication
Her friends still doin’ all they can
Even Robber Mice offer a hand
Pull out all stops and quickly plan
For a poet and artist they’ll stand
Homeward bound
They wish she was
Homeward bound
Home where her life is great and
Home where she loves creatin’
Home where her window’s waitin’
Silently, Sophie

Let there be cheese for us
And let it be all for me.
Let there be cheese for us
The cheese that was meant for me.
What? Sophie is missing
Where no one can see.
Let there be cheese for us
And rescue for Sophie.

They know she was put in a car—why are they searching so locally? Doesn’t The Woman have what’s needed for them to make some ‘missing cat’ signs?
