My cats are well-versed in basic shellfish safety, and know one should only eat the contents of the ones that were sealed tight — they must watch their opposable-thumbed servants opening the cans, so they know the contents are alive, fresh and safe to eat. Cans that were opened yesterday (no matter how carefully they are resealed with expensive plastic lids, refrigerated and carefully re-warmed) are as suspect as mussels or clams whose shells were gaping open for a few days. Poisonous! Foolish, greedy cats who are tempted to eat it will soon find themselves honking it up into a shoe.
I read disappointing news for some cat owners who went vegetarian recently if you are a vegetarian you can’t feed your cat a vegetarian diet it would be unhealthy for your cat to eliminate meat 100% from their diet because cats are obligate carnivores but you can feed your dog a vegetarian diet I think all vegetarians who have cats should think about going pescatarian and feed their cats pescatarian diet.
What next, you is makes investicative repurrrt saying picanic baskets is grows on trees? Come on. Totally unpurrrfussional to pushing fake mews on your channel.
Today’s strip reminds me of a radio commentary I heard a bunch of years ago about harvesting jars of gefilte fish from the Delaware River, & the threat of overfishing in the weeks leading up to Passover & the High Holidays.
I bought a sample box of Smalls. Decent price. Just before I went to hit reorder in ?? weeks, I saw what the actual cost would be after the promo. I quickly canceled. I still have 4 or 5 in the freezer. Our King will eat any gushy food that doesn’t heat him first. Zippy, on the other hand, finicky, finicky, finicky! She want warm water in it so she can slurp it. lol
Foxy insists on 99% gravy with a few solid bits as an afterthought. And she decides on a particular brand and type and if you give her anything else she backs off and says “this is not food.” For the last couple of months it’s been BFF OMG tuna and salmon and it must be covered with the almighty fish flakes. Fortunately you can buy those from a certain website named after Wonder Woman’s people (too bad it isn’t run by them).
Unrelated: Something Georgia commented on here a bit ago implied that it was just her and the kids now. I looked on her socials and couldn’t figure it out. Did she break up with The Man (I don’t remember his real name) ? Did he pass away? Does he just work something that requires him to be away for periods of time? Just curious.
OMG! Lupin’s face in p.4 is AMAZING!!! Georgia, that is one of the best faces you’ve ever published. I laughed so hard and am still snickering every time I glance at it!

The Beatles: Octopus’ Garden
I’d like to be under the sea
In the clam shell can garden in the shade
I’d have a net, and I would get
A clam shell can harvest of wet food
…….
I’d ask my friends to come and eat
A clam shell of wet cat food with me
I’d like to be under the sea
In the clam shell can garden in the shade
…….
It would be great beneath the waves
In our little dining room of wet food
Taking a nap would be the lap
Of luxury in the clam shell garden in the shade!
…….
We would be happy, you and me
With clam shell cans of food
I’d like to be under the sea
In a clam shell garden with you!
In a clam shell garden with you!
In a clam shell garden with you!

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
On Board the Water Cat Brothers’ Fishing Boat
Freshwater Cat: Glad you could come along with us on the fishing trip, Elvis.
Elvis-Anum: Since Iggy is in Afar right now, it’s the least I could do.
Saltwater Cat: Does it remind you of your dancing corsair days?
Elvis: It does. Nothing like going out clamming in the morning and having a clambake that night.
Fresh: Here’s a spot along he shore that looks promising.
Elvis: I have my bucket and shovel and I’m ready to go.
Salty: Pretty soon we’ll have plenty to take to Thomios.
Sometime Later, In the Royal Kitchen
Thomios: Alright, everyone! We need many cats to make a chowder.
Ora Z: I’ve shredded lots of potatoes for the soup!
Lupinium: And here are cat-friendly onions for flavor!
Burt-Ra: I have bacon. That makes everything better.
Thomios: Looks like we have plenty of cats to make this chowder.
Sue Chef: I think you might mean clowder.
Thomios: There are plenty of cats to make a chowder and a clowder.
