“…then how come there are still apes?”

Because they can’t all be active all the time.

And how come they are not still evolving?

Because chimps only have 98% of our DNA. That missing 2% left them behind.

In the second panel when he says, “Well, he did!”, that could refer to “Well, that clown did write that!”

What was a joke in a comic strip 50+ years ago is now a go-to talking point with the Young-Earth Creationist bunch.

“Yes, man is descended, the ornery cuss,

“But, brother, he isn’t descended from us!”

    The Monkey’s Disgrace Anonymous

There’s an uncomfortable amount of truth in that poem.

A very good point. If chickens came from dinosaurs, and there are no longer dinosaurs…

mokspr above made a very cogent comment.

Also note extra comma after ‘that’ in first opening balloon.

The hypothesis of evolution poses that both humans and apes descended from an ape like ancestor. This has never been proven and there is no process that we can observe in nature that has the ability to produce it. No credible “missing link” has ever been found. Humans are humans and animals are animals, each after their own kind.

Man is evolved? I don’t think so, he is so prehistoric. Maybe apes evolved from man? Now that explained it all.

There are still apes after humans evolved for the same reason there are still pickup trucks after tow trucks evolved from pickup trucks. There are niches for both.

That is the SERIOUS argument Georgia senatorial candidate Herschel Walker made when seeking the evangelical vote by refuting evolution.
