Hah! I was just reading the text and not looking at the imagery at first….. and I was thinking “wellingtons” referred to “beef Wellington” and continued to read…. And saw “eggs”…… then by the end I was confused…. Until I looked at the imagery and saw “Wellingtons” were meant as is galoshes or boots. I should probably eat breakfast before reading the comics. :)
Went to the beach and play area with my grandson yesterday. We could have used rubber boots, the place was lousy with Canada geese and their guano. Disgusting…
Frying eggs on the sidewalk is old news in Phoenix, Arizona. The latest is photos of baking cookies on the dashboard of your car! I’ve seen references to a recipe for baking a whole chicken in your mailbox! (Mailbox has to be metal, not plastic)
My kids actually fried eggs on my parents’ driveway during one of our AZ summertime visits! June 1992 after a day of tubing down the Salt River when we never realized it was that hot till getting in the car and turned on the radio! Those were the days. Heard that now (32 years later) the river is littered with trash from the tube floaters…like broken/abandoned Styrofoam coolers, beer/soda cans, etc. What a shame! That was a fun outing!

They’re talking about footwear, but they really should have hats and sunglasses.

Yep, rubber boots of some kind are (metaphorically) a necessity during election season in the US. And we are DEFINITELY in that season.

I wish I had such metaphoric boots for my ears to filter out unwanted “egg” comments and conversations.
