Getting a fetishist to give up their fetish object is nearly impossible.

    Fetishism

A fetish is an object believed to have supernatural powers, or in particular, a human-made object that has power over others. Essentially, fetishism is the attribution of inherent non-material value, or powers, to an object. Talismans and amulets are related. Fetishes are often used in spiritual or religious context.

Part of the Project 2025 Talibangelical MAGA manual is to ban all internet porn.

    Yeah, right, sure.

Do they really think MAGAs, stupid as they are, will go for somebody taking away their porn? Besides the Talibangelicals wanting to take the country back to the fantasy 1950s world of ‘Leave It To Beaver’, frustrated and repressed MAGAs will have to get their rocks off with bootlegged stroke books like ‘Nude Dudes at the Bar Nothing Ranch’ and ‘The Farmer’s Daughter Butters Her Buns’.

And too, once the MAGAs succeed in turning our country into the Fourth Reich of Terror, they’ll use the military to round up unapproved weapons . The penalty for non-compliance is slave labor and or death. There. Gun violence? Problem solved, suckahs!

Well, good for the sturgeon general, how else would we know about the slaughter of kids, spousal carnage and the very popular, mowing down of crowds of strangers?

Guns are not a health issue…the lack of mental health is an issue.

I’ve been around guns most of my life, served in the military, and never had a gun attack me. Most estimates show between 350-400 MILLION guns in the United States…guns are not the problem. If they were the issue, there would be a lot more dead people, fortunately gun owners are generally much more responsible.Obviously the above does not pertain to the criminal elements amongst us…Some of the problems mass media skips right over?1 – Liberal politicians thinking they can control people are a problem2 – Politicians making “gun free” zone that makes it easy for a person to obtain their 15 minutes of fame in order to ease their defective brain/mental issue3 – Failure to hold parents accountable for their actions (or inactions) when it comes to ensuring their child can operate in society4 – Politicians failing to enforce the hundreds of current gun laws already on the books5 – Politicians making it easier for the criminal element to make their “cash-free” bail to get back out on the street and offend again6 – Societal issues where offenders are protected by their neighbors against “the man”7 – Liberals trying to “defund the police”8 – Failure of our healthcare system to detect, treat, and/or confine those with mental issues9 – Whiny liberals trying to strip the 2nd Amendment from our lives to make even more of us victims10 – You never see an anti-gun politician travel without security staff, just another hypocrite overlooked by the mass media

Guns are not a health or a mental health issue actually – guns are a culture issue. And I think your answer actually backs this up more that the argument of mental health.

I know this is incredibly unpopular to say, because it means we aren’t the best we could be – but consider this: find me a modern popular mainstream American movie that has a conflict in it, that doesn’t resolve it with a gun. OK, that’s a bit black and white – but, honestly, watching a stream or a movie and someone is stressed out about the actions of someone else – and we think, the hero will shoot the bad guy.

I’ve lived elsewhere. Honestly, this “a gun is a way to solve things” is very much an American thing. If any other country had the right to bear arms in their constitution, I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t result in them seeing guns as the first alternative to safety/protection/debate – they generally have less lethal things to be proud of that they believe reflects who they are more.

I’ll say it again (and again …) We don’t need gun control. Let everyone who wants to have a gun, have as many of the darn things as they want. The amount of damage that a gun can do is extremely limited. Your granddaddy’s M1911A1 will raise one hell of welt if you hit someone with it. Done right, you might even kill him, but it will be up-close-n-personal, and would probably be easier to do it with a knife. The fundamental advantage of a gun is that it effects an action at a distance. Take that away, and a huge amount of crime, especially unsolved crime, goes away.

We need to tax the livin’ hell out of ammo and make it as inconvenient to acquire as radioactive material of a comparable weight.

When there’s a federal tax on ammo of, say 1000%, and you have to sign for the box with your “deadly materials permit”, you might want to rethink your choice of hobbies. (It’s a lot cheaper to learn how to juggle flaming axes.) Or even vocations, if you’re a criminal.
