Biden now can officially declare CF Fraudfather as a terrorist threat to democracy and deal with him, then dissolve the RWSC, install a real Supreme Court, pardon himself for anything anyone might think is wrong, then step down. Nobody could touch him, since the RWSC says that’s all legal now and he is immune.

Bananas, bananas. Folks, do any of you see America from other eyes? For example, Australia has gradually cut ties, as have almost all European lands; want America first? Careful what you wish for.

Among other things, the majority of the Court said that the president can take bribes as part of official actions. This court has gone completely rogue, not just on this issue. They’ve also been accruing power to themselves and rewriting the actual constitution without gooing through the constitutional amendment process. Maybe it’s time to reverse what now appears to be the original sin in Marbury v. Madison. That decision was in part based on the belief that Court derived its authority through the acceptance of the legitimacy of its decisions by the public. I don’t see this Court as legitimate: it is now regularly overturning precedent; it has taken it upon itself to second guess the experts in the regulatory agencies; it has now basically said there is no legal check on presidential power; it is now showing overtlyt its partisanship; and not only has it not found a way to rein in its own obviously corrupt members, it is actually ruling to legitimize corruption in government. This project of the former Republican party to remake the country in the image of its authoritarian and fascist impulses is moving along as planned.

It seems to me liberals went way too far in trying to destroy Trump and the conservative SC went too far on this ruling which is so complex as to stifle attempts at completing Trump trials until after the election. I was hoping for a ballot free of Biden and Trump, but LBJ was the last liberal I will ever vote for. Did the Lieberman No Labels party go up in smoke with his death?

While SCOTUS sets up POTUS as King, they are retaining the real power in that they determine what’s an official act by a POTUS. If R, Ok. If D, NOT! Reform SCOTUS!!!

How can paying off a porn star through his lawyer (who did prison time for the same crime) and committing tax fraud to commit election interference before he was elected in 2016 even remotely be considered an official Presidential duty? He wasn’t president when he committed those crimes.

I’m sorry but having a clown king is not my idea of freedom. The Conservatives on the Supreme Court are flirting with treason.

Their ethics violations have been occuring since at least when Thomas was appointed to the Supreme Court. Why is it only now we are finding out about it. I have a feeling we have only seen the top of this iceberg.

If every American that claims to love freedom doesn’t vote Democratic up and down the ticket, they are going to find freedom to be a thing of the past, sooner than later.

    From Thomas’s concurrence:

I write separately to highlight another way in which this prosecution may violate our constitutional structure. In this case, the Attorney General purported to appoint a private citizen as Special Counsel to prosecute a former President on behalf of the United States. But, I am not sure that any office for the Special Counsel has been “established by Law,” as the Constitution requires. Art. II, §2, cl. 2. By requiring that Congress create federal offices “by Law,” the Constitution imposes an important check against the President—he cannot create offices at his pleasure. If there is no law establishing the office that the Special Counsel occupies, then he cannot proceed with this prosecution. A private citizen cannot criminally prosecute anyone, let alone a former President.

This has, once and for all, definitively, beyond question, put to rest the ridiculous claim by ⅔ of the Subprime Court that they’re “originalists”, never going beyond what the framers of the Constitution were thinking back in 1787.

This new Supreme Court ruling reminds me of the Russian Constitution that gives Putin total authority to kill anyone including Russian Citizens without repercussions or approval of any other government official. So shouldn’t this Supreme Court ruling be entitled Putins Law.

The Heritage Foundation and the MAGA Republicans are doing everything in their power to divide the citizens of the U.S.A. The billionaires are fighting tooth and nail to keep their obscenely inflated profits and to avoid paying their fair share of taxes. They been steadily working toward an oligarchy where they are the favored few and all other citizens are the serfs who serve them.

They are also the ones pushing the “whispers” that President Biden is not up to the job over one bad debate.

The next day, President Biden showed up in North Carolina looking like his usual self, but one appearance that was subpar and the media pounced. I think we should cut him a little slack for ONE bad night.

President Biden has done more actual presidential work, including travelling from continent to continent, successfully managing both foreign and domestic policies better than most of his predecessors. President Biden has also shown more stamina than most younger people (including those who are calling for him to step down) year after year, month after month, week after week, day after day. No one can realistically say that he has been ineffective as a president.

Democrats need some more “Ride or Die” loyalty, instead of “If it’s not perfect, then I don’t want it.” Stop being a fair-weather friend!

Don’t allow the malignant forces at work to throw away Joe Biden, the best president we have had in my lifetime

The president can now, hypothetically, accept a million-dollar bribe to pardon someone. Illegal? Sure. Bribery is illegal. But it would be in the course of his Constitutional duties, so he would be immune.

But wait…bribery isn’t one of his Constitutional duties, right? Right. But….the evidence from the bribe-for-pardon event would not be able to be used against him. Without that, what bribery charge?
