Biden now can officially declare CF Fraudfather as a terrorist threat to democracy and deal with him, then dissolve the RWSC, install a real Supreme Court, pardon himself for anything anyone might think is wrong, then step down. Nobody could touch him, since the RWSC says that’s all legal now and he is immune.

SCOTUS has just enabled Trump, if the country fails the IQ test in November, to finish his Putin-style takeover of America. And it’s hard to predict, with all the propositions he keeps making in his “rally” rants, what he might actually do. He will certainly destroy the economy by upending any stability that has been achieved, when he imposes crushing tariffs. He could actually try running the US on those tariffs, adding huge costs to the middle class and huge bonuses to the wealthy. And he promises to deport millions of workers America actually needs, there will be a severe worker shortage if he does so. Also expect KGB (or Chinese) style speech police; criticizing Trump will become a crime. If you’re not part of a very narrow sliver of America, the rich white Christians, you will find your rights and lifestyle severely limited.

    From Thomas’s concurrence:

I write separately to highlight another way in which this prosecution may violate our constitutional structure. In this case, the Attorney General purported to appoint a private citizen as Special Counsel to prosecute a former President on behalf of the United States. But, I am not sure that any office for the Special Counsel has been “established by Law,” as the Constitution requires. Art. II, §2, cl. 2. By requiring that Congress create federal offices “by Law,” the Constitution imposes an important check against the President—he cannot create offices at his pleasure. If there is no law establishing the office that the Special Counsel occupies, then he cannot proceed with this prosecution. A private citizen cannot criminally prosecute anyone, let alone a former President.

The documents that have guided America will only get in the way of an authoritarian. They will have to go. The sad thing for his supporters is, he will eventually turn on you too and crush you.

Tell me again how emotional/extreme partisanship in Congress/Court builds trust/respect, making the nation stronger … than a thoughtful/collaborative government would.

Question: If Mr Biden decided to eliminate Mr Trump to protect the Constitution and Democracy would he be immune? It would jibe with his duties. Or does this only apply to Republican Presidents?

The Heritage Foundation and the MAGA Republicans are doing everything in their power to divide the citizens of the U.S.A. The billionaires are fighting tooth and nail to keep their obscenely inflated profits and to avoid paying their fair share of taxes. They been steadily working toward an oligarchy where they are the favored few and all other citizens are the serfs who serve them.

They are also the ones pushing the “whispers” that President Biden is not up to the job over one bad debate.

The next day, President Biden showed up in North Carolina looking like his usual self, but one appearance that was subpar and the media pounced. I think we should cut him a little slack for ONE bad night.

President Biden has done more actual presidential work, including travelling from continent to continent, successfully managing both foreign and domestic policies better than most of his predecessors. President Biden has also shown more stamina than most younger people (including those who are calling for him to step down) year after year, month after month, week after week, day after day. No one can realistically say that he has been ineffective as a president.

Democrats need some more “Ride or Die” loyalty, instead of “If it’s not perfect, then I don’t want it.” Stop being a fair-weather friend!

Don’t allow the malignant forces at work to throw away Joe Biden, the best president we have had in my lifetime
