If those who are strongly feeling the force of fascism now cannot unify and mobilize on November 5th to win then I believe that I will be riding out my last few years in relative obscurity with minimal to moderate discomfort. Probably what will take me out a few years earlier than I might expect is a poor and overwhelmed healthcare system , or a disrupted food chain, or fraud and corruption among those who are supposed to be “following the rule of law”. We saw what it will look like during Covid.
The demented lying Fat Orange Clown (aka The FOCer” showed his management and leadership style the first time around. That was only a practice run by the JV team. Their Pros are now waiting on the sidelines.
Women, non-whites, civil rights advocates, environmentalists, privacy rights supporters, freedom lovers to believe in your own spiritually, and similar others, I ask you as one sitting in the cheap seats:
Can you get it together very soon and find a coordinated effective way to save the Democracy that we knew prior to January 2017?
On July 4, we celebrate the Declaration of Independence. I highly recommend that everyone read the list of grievances articulated against he King of England in that document and notice how many are similar to the ones many of us have against a Trump presidency. It’s as if Trump actually read it and said, “Hey, I can adapt these to this time and my desires and get rid of that hated document once and for all.” Here are a couple:
“He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good…He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.” (Just this past year Trump deliberately and purposefully ordered his minions in Congress to refuse to pass an Immigration bill to resolve the border problem despite the fact it was negotiated by one of his own.)
“He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.” (Consider the ruling by Trump’s minions on SCOTUS and their desire to please him by delaying till the last day of their term a ruling on immunity and then basically ruling in Trump’s favor to give license to a dictatorial presidency. Or what about his appointee Aileen Cannon in Florida, going out of her way to delay and complicate a relatively simple case against Trump.)
“He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:…” (Consider Trump’s actions and words vis a vis Putin and Kim and Orban.)
