Very kind of Gabe getting the ladies and the pressmen(?) out of the soon to be hot zone, like a good leader should. Gabe just might have that secret way out, just as soon as I get the Borden story going. My question is who is running the machinery and how will this hot issue get distributed ?  Is there a slew of employees we haven’t met ?

I really like how Gabe is drawn today, very natural moustache and hair. Not an outlandish caricature.

Looks like these two crooks is going to gets away. Goldilocks disguised as little blue riding hood and fire head as little green riding hood. Perhaps adding to list of crooks who is gets away from Tracy and co in recent times. Why’d audience wants to bothers with a bunch incompetent heroes who is not breengs theirs villains to justice? Now we is gots to sees if fatso pay for his crimes or he is gets away too.

First off, I salute “Sir Charles” for his research and over-all accuracy with all the Lino-type/Printing art in this story. I’m going to get very, very picky here, but I’m not complaining so much as I am hoping to clarify.

Gabe appears to be holding a freshly cast line of type in his hand as he inspects it. That was a very common practice; I saw my friend Joe do that many times. But the “slug”, or line of type in Gabe’s hand appears to be a little too square. Type high is 0.918 inch. Standard Linotypes machines were able to cast lines up to 18 point (although there were some models capable of larger point sizes, we have seen that this machine is being used for text copy.) So the slug should appear narrower and slightly taller in his hand, IMO.

Again, this is just to help folks understand what is going on in that panel, if anyone cares. Big thanks to Sir Charles for showing us all this cool printing technology from a bygone age! Also to Eric for writing it. Whatever else may be said about this story, I am enjoying this aspect.

Why is it that (with the exception of Croptop) the lady criminals almost always escape lately? I realize these 2 aren’t completely gone yet, but it sure looks like they’re about to board the 8 o’clock bus to Fataville. Have the lady crims become too cunning to catch, even by our lady coppers?

However, I can’t help but wonder if I’m overreacting to Tracy’s simple request for a meeting? NAH!!!
