We don’t have to turn our yard waterers on or off. Except at the change of seasons when we turn the SYSTEM on or off.

During the summer, lawn goes brown.

Yes… dormant…

Water far away heats up, to produce water vapor. And, if there is enough thermal energy in the atmosphere, that vapor is forced away from the source waters, to cool, condense and precipitate here. It seems too hot here, because it is not hot enough elsewhere.

Kid, you could call it ‘automatic.’ Rain happens when conditions are right. The ‘automatic’ periods just aren’t consistent.

It’s the most automatic irrigation system available.

Our “automatic” sprinkler system has different settings, including drizzle, downpour, sleet, and snow.

Rain might be frowned upon. You can’t meter it and charge accordingly.

The nearby apartment complex has sprinklers. A lot of the water ends up in the gutters.

It’s been a rainy July, the grass is very green in Mid-Michigan

and it doesn’t cost a thing. ;)

I’m new to reading Frazz. Is he supposed to come across as lazy, or pragmatic?

Is Frazz supposed to be in charge of the school grounds, too? I thought he only dealt with the inside of the school…..

In other words, let him enjoy his summer too kid!
