Hear the roar as they sense the fear. Wheels. A glint of steel and a flash of light. Screams. From a streak of fire as he strikes. Hell bent. Hell bent for leather. Hell bent. Hell bent for leather. Black as night, faster than a shadow. Crimson flare from a raging sun. An exhibition. Sheer precision. Yet, no one knows where he comes from. Fools ! Self destruct cannot take that crown. Dreams. Crash one by one to the ground. Hell bent. Hell bent for leather.

Kids saying that we oldies are making up words is a laugh. Each generation feels a need to make up a new set of words, just so we don’t really understand what they’re saying anymore. The stupid ones are when they use an existing word but change the meaning for its use. When someone says to me that “That guy is sick”, to me it means he’s ill. To them, for some reason, it means he’s great.

Earl, you just realized your bladder is full! Show Nelson what you meant by high tailing it to the bathroom.

I just finished reading Tom Sawyer (I picked up a copy in a thrift store and was curious, since I’d never read it) and was talking about it and other books with my mom. She described Tom as a “ratfink,” and my dad said from the next room, “Did you just use the word ‘ratfink?’ That’s an old word.”
