I have some Conoco straws. I use one in the 40 oz Black & Decker vacuum steel cup, that I believe is up around two years old. It will break eventually and a new one will take its place. I can’t believe the waste with plastic tableware. Years ago I had made multiple trips to Sbarro, for spaghetti. They have nice sturdy forks and spoons and so I have kept those and use something every now and then. I keep some in the car for if I am somewhere that ran out of ‘service’, I just pull it out of the console or what I carry in a jacket pocket.
I think it is funny that folks are insisting on paper straws and while insisting that they have to have bottled water when they have access to clean water really all the time.
I got caught out once without my personal straw and had to use the paper one given me. It was fine. It didn’t melt away like the cartoons often show. I then bought a box of them at the grocer for when the grandkids are over, and they don’t have any problems with them either
Hey, did you know you can buy boxes of plastic straws at the grocery store? And take a big handful of ’em with you in your purse (or murse!) wherever you go?
I bought METAL straws for a reason. Totally reusable, forever. And they come in all sorts of diameters which helps from shakes and smoothies down to water.

Why straws? If you leave the lid off, you can just drink from the cup.

The irony in some cases, is that paper straws come wrapped in a plastic sleeve……

Weren’t all straws made out of paper until sometime in the mid 1960s? I don’t remember having any problems with them.

We now use metal straws. Just don’t trip and shove one through the back of your head.
