Maybe he should lodge a dam complaint.

and that is why there’s a shortage of workers in the trades.

Most of the engineers I know aren’t civil.

Reminded of an old PSA from years ago. Abe Lincoln walks into an employment office “looking for an executive position”. The guy behind the desk tells him “You ain’t going nowhere without that sheepskin!”

degrees are vastly overrated

This is so true in today’s world. People have all of these degrees and yet can’t tie their shoelaces. They have no idea what life is about.

I remember watching a documentary about beavers and how they’d hafta use dynamite to blow up some of their dams… only to see the beavers rebuild ’em!

In my experience, it seems to take a minimum of four years of schooling to know how to consistently screw up a measurement when you’re holding the dumb end of the tape.

Dam nation.

Fun fact: the largest beaver dam in the world is in Wood Buffalo National Park in Alberta, Canada. At over half a mile long, it was discovered thru satellite imagery in 2007! Look it up… cool stuff!!

And that attitude of HR is why we have otherwise educated people who can’t do the job they were hired for.

Civil Engineer is an oxymoron.

For most entry-level positions now, you need a college degree, possibly one of a handful of specific ones, and 2-5 years of experience. It’s insane.
