Other parents teach with words. Elly teaches through sound effects. Elly removes her mouth so she cannot explain in language. Instead, she goes, “SCRAPE SCRAPE SCRAPE” and April goes, “SCRAPE SCRAPE SCRAPE”. Elly goes “CLiCK!” But April leaves out the “CLiCK!” And that is April’s downfall. She has no “CLiCK!” Admittedly that “CLiCK!” might be difficult with the mixed uppercase and lowercase letters and an exclamation point in the sound effect. It may be a too advanced sound effect for someone as young as April.

Was this deliberate, or did April just forget to close the cupboard door? And why is she allowed to handle a knife and Dennis the Menace (who’s two years older) isn’t??

My son has a huge dog who kept getting into the garbage so he sprinkles hot pepper on it to keep him away.

Since the plates are going to be washed anyways, might as well let Edgar do the pre-cleaning.

Which is why doing the whole job is much more important than doing part of the job.

Ah, so April is copying the scraping of food into the garbage but missed the part where you close the cabinet afterward.

This raises two questions: How was a toddler able to open the cabinet door when that “click” presumably meant a child safe lock catching? And why did Elly shut the cabinet and apparently walk away with the job of clearing the table half done?

A long time ago we had crab legs for dinner. Our trash can is in a closet with magnet closures. The next morning we found sucked-dry crab legs strewn around the kitchen floor. We figured it took BOTH cats working together to pry that door open. Funny they avoided the kitchen all day.
