And it will be kind of a sad day for me because the wonderful neighbor lady who has lived next door to me for many years, passed away recently. Her funeral is today. Kay was a very sweet person. But after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease (something I would not wish on anyone), she eventually had to be moved into a care facility. She was there for several months before she eventually died just a week ago today. It’s hard saying that her passing was a blessing, though I guess it really was. It’s good to know that she is no longer suffering from this dreaded disease. But I will miss her very much.
I very much enjoyed playing miniature golf yesterday. I like to play mini golf on or near my birthday. I would have played on my birthday, but my birthday was on a Sunday, so the place probably would have been very busy. It was a little busy yesterday, but I started playing in the late morning, so as it got closer to noon, the crowds thinned out as people went to lunch. Things have changed there, though. They no longer have the senior citizen discount which they had the last time I played (about 3 or 4 years ago – it applied to anyone 60 or over). But it’s still not a bad deal as I paid $12 for unlimited play over 2 courses.
I got one hole in one and one almost hole in one (just about 2 inches short). All in all, I didn’t do too badly. I did fill in a scoresheet, but I haven’t gotten around to adding up my scores yet. I think I probably came in just a little bit over par on each of the 2 courses (those few sixes I got hurt me, but we won’t talk about those).
Ah the old Acme portable hole. Looks like Chesney is having more luck with it than Wile E. Coyote did. On another note, saw three wrens and a junco while out walking today.
Becky,,,you have my sympathies…Iost my maternal gramma, paternal grampa and my mom to the dreaded Alzheimer’s disease,,,not a pretty disease, for sure…robs a person of all personality and humanity.. Feel good, knowing she no longer is so confused and angry about not knowing anyone any more….you have my thoughts and sympathies…

Ah, the old fake-hole-on-the-sidewalk gag. A real classic.
