I much prefer my 20 year old wool sweaters to all that synthetic crap.

The heck they don’t matter! I’m visiting Iceland right now and am VERY thankful for and to sheep! Snow fell on some of the lower slopes of the hills around Reykholt yesterday and the temp dropped to 0°C with a bitter wind. Thank goddess for wool sweaters and pants!

I wish someone would invent a sheep whose wool didn’t itch.

They’ll end up as legs of lamb, well-marinated. Bring on the mint sauce!

Shouldn’t they look like cotton balls because no one’s sheared them in a long time?

We were in Ireland last year and visited a working farm with sheep & a border collie to herd them. They also had some sheep in stalls of different breeds, The farmer told us that their sheep are generally used for food. The ones used for sweaters were imported from China. Disappointed big time.

    I love wool!

Wear wool socks year ‘round. Usually Merino. And wool shirts in cooler weather, mostly Pendletons that I found in thrift shops, sweaters, tights and pants if in snow country. Also any cashmere from Cashmere goats is super soft and not itchy (no lanolin) unless you are super sensitive. Also for those who are allergic Alpaca wool also doesn’t have lanolin.

Beware of those that harbor a ravenous and lascivious lust for lanolin.

I didn’t like wearing wool clothing as a kid. When I joined the Coast Guard I learned to like wool because the winter dress blues were wool.

Goat fleece (cashmere) It won’t weigh you down; it’s non-itchy (no lanolin) and it keeps you warm.
