I’d like to see Rory’s reaction when Stan tells him the Earth spins at a thousand miles per hour while travelling through space at 67,000 miles per hour.
N.dG.T.: “Every account of a higher power that I’ve seen described, of all religions that I’ve seen, include many statements with regard to the benevolence of that power. When I look at the universe and all the ways the universe wants to kill us, I find it hard to reconcile that with statements of beneficence.”

Sadly this is very true.
You Are My Moon And Stars
I am giving a tour of the planetarium to a group. We are starting on the terrace outside the building that has a great view of the city.
Guest: Pointing at the moon “That’s the moon!”
Me: “Yes, sir.”
Guest: “But it’s the daytime!”
Me: “Yes, it’s a common misconception that you can only see the moon at night. Thanks to the Earth’s rotation and certain atmospheric conditions—”
Guest: Pointing at the sun “But the sun is right there!”
Me: “Yes, sir.”
Guest: “But they’re the same thing!”
Me: “…”
Everyone Else On The Tour: “…”
Me: “Sir, they are most certainly not the same thing.”
Guest: “Oh… is this like a flat earth thing?”
I am really not sure if he enjoyed the rest of the tour, but at least he was quiet.

Rory must be a card carrying member of the flat Earth society.

Neil hired some muscle to go with him on all public engagements. Gets far less of that now.
