Well, I guess that confirms that Tracy never bothered to debrief Diet.

and THAT’S what I find totally implausible and unacceptable… that NO ONE briefed Diet of the January 6th attempt back at the Valley…

and over the days, I’ve noticed that Diet is sporting the Wilfred Brimley ‘stache besides having dropped some of that excess baggage that he’s been toting for quite awhile now…

Pembie’s armchair writing analysis:

My prediction is that there is an explanation for Rosie’s behavior that will play into either a struggle to a climax or a disappointingly bland resolution. I predict a couple of minor plot holes, but less than we’ve been seeing. I’m hopeful for an exciting story, which is looking more likely, but I’m not holding my breath. At any rate, the pacing is good. Mostly, new things are happening every day.

It’s looking better than fair so far that the story is going to be a good one to the end, as we have been able to anticipate some excitement that was delivered and we all mostly seem to be looking forward each day to seeing what’s going to happen “tomorrow” – I am at any rate. That’s a good trend.

In general the story is holding together better for longer than many arcs have in the past couple of years. Also, we’re talking more about the substance of the story than the writing of the story itself (present comment notwithstanding). That means that the story has some substance worth talking about. I find Diet and Mysta to both be compelling characters and the history Mike set up with Rosie previously wanting to conquer the world brings a built-in tension for the characters to interact with.

We all are itching to know what’s up with Rosie’s “rosy” demeanor right now and the anticipation is nice as the story progresses each day. No spoilers, whoever is reading the advanced releases! Let us enjoy it as it unfolds at the right pace.

Mike, so far so good. Any issues we might gripe about are minor right now. I’m enjoying this one at the moment. I’m looking forward to seeing how Tracy reacts to Ro-Zan being in-country.

Today’s strip reminds me of a scene in Tora Tora Tora where an officer, played by Richard Anderson, gets a warning that Pearl Harbor is coming under attack & demands proof. As Neville Brand says in a later scene, pointing out a window to the harbor, “There’s your proof!”

I hope Tracy remembers the ring, just in case.

Mysta looks like she’s real tired of Diet’s doubting her BS in that last panel. He’s probably lucky she didn’t zap him. And he probably deserved a zap.
