When you first set up your account, you can lie about things like that. You can lie about your favorite color and movie. You could pick a color like “Zuckerberg Pale”.
In reading the comics I can only assume that the sense of humor has been lost. Far too many are not getting the joke because they are focused on details. Hyperbole and assumption are part of the recipe. This strip is hilarious.
I never give real-life answers to security questions. City you were born? Minas Tirith. School you went to? Hogwarts. I keep the questions and answers in my password manager. I use names from various books and movies, so the questions never have the same answers.

If she changed her name after marriage, it’s not her maiden name.

I didn’t even know the characters had last names.

They ask for the maiden name not the changed name so the trick doesn’t work

Ideally you should not use real, discoverable information as part of your access credentials anyway. Better to make up stuff.

“Nevermind” would be a better choice for her mother’s maiden name.

I wonder how often tele-bankers have gone to verify a customer’s identity and had to review embarrassing/snarky security answers?

It’ll get even more confusing when mom changes her gender

Aawww, mean mom!

You don’t need to give your actual mother’s maiden name (and some would say you shouldn’t) — as long as you can remember what you did tell them.
zeexenon 3 months ago
If I told you once, I’ve told you a million times, it’s “MOM!”

as Uncle Kenny said, her maiden name would remain the same, unchangeable.

Whenever I hear “Never Mind,” I always hear it in the voice of Gilda Radner playing Emily Litella.

It’s called a joke folks! (Yes, don’t use real names for passwords or other things.) BUT this is not a public service announcement!

It took me two days to satisfyingly parse the whole thing correctly. very satisfying.
I’m glad I kept getting side-tracked and had to go through my list to find the correct date to start again with.
