It seems more likely they’ll get eighty days worth of rainfall in only one day.
But only close to the source waters. You could probably just build a compound a bit inland, away from the coastal cities where all the people of the world lived before roads were a thing.
Unless ‘they’ are the wise owls, I would just consider it a rumor and let everyone off at the next mountain.
You’ll notice that only the snakes are pairing together…
