Great Strip. Don’t know diddly about Connor MCDavid but I like the way the young lady is proud of doing her skating outdoors. And I love Frazz’s outdoor stuff. Nice job on the leaf, Jef.
NY Rangers life long fan, former ticket holder for MSG, alive long enough to see the original 6 become twelve and watch the exponential growth of the NHL to its current size.I vote for a return to the days of woolen hockey sweaters, wooden sticks, games where teeth and blood were regularly left on the ice, and no more sunbelt franchises
The seasons are now driven by TV and the broadcaster’s desire for more games. When hockey and basketball end in June you begin to wonder what the limits are.
Um, Jef, you wrote the dialogue for both characters. They’re speaking with YOUR voice. Which means you’re calling your own writing “brilliant.” I’d call that very much “on brand” for a guy who comes across as very, very impressed with himself.

Her mom and dad probably would tell her to keep watching Barbie.

If we had to rely on nature, we wouldn’t have decent ski seasons either.

I’ve seen huge fields full of albatross in the Falklands, but not many penguins. It might be seasonal.

The few times I get in the mood to watch TV, hockey is almost the only good thing on.

There are about 64 locations in the U.S. where you can see penguins. You should move to one of those areas.

Do penguins squabble as much as legislatures? If not, they would be more interesting, and less dangerous to watch.

The old chestnut: “I once went to a fight and a hockey game broke out.”

It just ain’t right that places like Vegas and Florida have hockey teams. Regions where ponds never freeze should not have hockey. ;>

How many of y’all can name the Original Six without looking it up?

I think the young lady is on to something; hockey (like baseball & football) should only be played outdoors.

Yeah, I watched a documentary on pinwings once. I think Tom Hiddleston was narrating it.

Really just four teams. Boston and New York never seemed to make the playoffs…

In some places in Canada and Alaska, they cannot play hockey outside in the dead of winter because it’s too cold.
The remainder of the proof is left to the student.
