Well, she did leave it there without a DO NOT TOUCH note so can he be blamed? Only if he knew she was baking a special cake for the church bake sale. However, I do think she’s going to be quite angry.

Did the “Do not touch” postit note fail to stick to the fruitcake and blow away?

Wait a minute, somebody does like fruit cake?

When she gets back, he’ll be seeing God very soon.

The church might forgive him; but Mrs Dear won’t.

What a huge chunk he took! Most people don’t like fruitcake, I like it but in small doses. And yes he ought to have waited for her to get home to ask if it was for them or for some other event. She’s gonna clobber him with the rest of it.

From the comments I would think the European version of fruitcake is much better than the American one.

There is no note.

This could be a situation that may actually happened to Alex Graham & his dog Freda. Would be fun to know if.

I guess she knew who did it because he was the only other person in the house and it was neatly cut so unlike Fred.

Cut the rest of the Fruitcake into pieces . Sale it by the piece ;-)

My sister bakes the best fruitcake, it is AMAZING.

Mrs Dear has had a lifetime habit of leaving food unattended on the table. Cakes to tempt Mr. D and later sausages that Fred can’t resist

I am sure she will be happy to make another!

I make my own fruitcakes and the family loves them.

The way for Mrs. to get around that, is to slice up the rest of the cake and arrange on a platter.

I love it too. Toast it, put a little cream cheese on it, it’s delicious.

Whoops. But this is where communication comes in to play; if you’re baking something special, tell your partner so that they know not to snack on it!

For the fruit cake lovers the best (IMO) is the one that comes from Texas. For the fruit cake haters, may all of you be mailed a weeks worth of Haggis!!!

She forgot the sign. You break, You buy.

And I now have a fruitcake cooling on a wire rack, and the kitchen smells fabulous!

I have been soaking the fruit for days, so it’s just a coincidence that it got baked today.

You ever not try something just because of all the bad things you’ve heard about it?

Even if it were not meant for the bake sale it probably should have been saved for Christmas.

It was HER responsibility to leave a note prominently displayed by the dish.

I wonder if three quarter sections wouldn’t actually sell better at the church sale.
