Tom would’ve have said “Here I come to save the DAAAY!” but he knows Mighty Mouse is too new for his followers to recognize. Tomorrow: A Jimmy Durante joke.
So we have Lillian, Dinkle, the Choir AND a reference to the second greatest achievement in Human History: “The Phantom Empire.” (The first is Flash #123, but I think that turning up’s a gimme at this point)
OY , to the Trolls on this strip. Lighten up , Variety is the spice of life , 4 panels of Crankshaft ’s face , left profile , right profile , left profile , right profile , how boring , the only thing more boring is the daily troll posts ! After it is only a Christmas story arc .
Although we won’t see any of it, the concert will be a success. We’ll read the buildup and the aftermath, but nothing in between. There, I saved everyone two weeks of wondering. Three things you can always count on with Batty:
1.) Tell, don’t show. Characters will talk about the concert up until it’s about to start. The following day will feature characters talking about how great it was and how smooth it went. Harry Dinkle will be congratulated for “saving the day”. A round of smirks for everyone.
2.) Certain Mary Sue characters like Les Moore, Harry Dinkle, and Lillian McKenzie get whatever their little ol’ hearts desire. There’s never any pushback. The very thought is inconceivable in the contemporary Funkyverse.
3.) There’s no pain, struggle, or strife at all in the post-Winkerbean Funkyverse. The outcome is preordained and never a surprise. Characters achieving success without struggle equals boring.

He’s back in the saddle, but it’s the choir who will soon be calling for Preparation H.

I really like it when the artist takes the time to get the correct music onto the staff, rather than just random eighth notes.

Harry could’ve done “On the Road Again,” but decided he was more of an Gene Autry type white cowboy, than an “outlaw” Willie Nelson.
