“Go forth and kill the Philistines. Kill the men, the women and the children. Kill their flocks, herds and fowl. Kill everything that breaths. Burn their cities to the ground, and then re-build upon the land.” Too dark, for a Wednesday??
Reminds me of sculptor Claes Oldenberg who would use materials like plaster of Paris or vinyl for the impermanence of the materials. As the materials deteriorated they added to the life of the sculpture in ways he could not have planned for. He sculpted a plaster hamburger with blow up vinyl French fries, and as the plaster crumbled or the fries deflated it changed the sculpture.
When I was a kid, I lived for a time in Oklahoma. We didn’t usually get much snow, a few inches most of the time. So when you tried to roll up a ball for a snowman, it would bring a bunch of dead grass and leaves. Sad-looking snowmen.

But you can still make a good snowball to throw..
snsurone76 about 23 hours ago
I wonder if that was Moe, offscreen. Naw—he wouldn’t speak; he’d just come over there and knock the snowman to flakes! And then, he’d beat up Calvin!

3rd panel reminded me of the rock group Evanescence song, Bring Me to Life.

Our mortality is not a horror if we love God. Specifically, Jesus.

Obviously it is not too warm to build a snowman, since he just built one.

Who’s calling Calvin a dope, out of view in Panel #4? Susie Derkins? Miss Wormwood? Mom? The uncertainty has me on pins and needles.

Too warm for Snow Goons. Too bad.

If it’s cold enough for snow, it’s cold enough for a snowman!

It looks like he built a pretty good snowman to me.

And, since the whole point of this piece is that it won’t be around for long, it won’t be appreciated in later times, either.

Maybe show the philistine that the temperature is just perfect for a slush ball…

“Evanescence.” Six year olds use that word all the time, don’t they?

It’s warm enough for a nice ice-ball, though.
Or do you just throw those at little girls, boyo!
